Project Details
Aalberts Integrated Piping Systems creates highly technical products, so one of my main responsibilities was turning detailed product information into clear and useful visual communication without losing accuracy. As an in-house visual designer, I worked across print, digital content, presentations, product literature, promotional materials, photography, and other branded materials.
One of the most valuable parts of my experience was visiting the manufacturing facilities and seeing how the products were made. It gave me a deeper understanding of the precision and work behind what I was designing. The valves and piping systems were no longer just product photographs and specifications. I had seen the production process and the people behind it.
I also created the visual direction for an Apollo Valves mobile app prototype in Figma. Because there were no existing app screens, I translated the visual system used across brochures and promotional materials into a digital interface. This required me to think through navigation, content organization, visual consistency, and how detailed product information could remain clear on a smaller screen.
My contributions also extended into creative operations. After identifying a need for stronger communication and project tracking, I researched several project management platforms and recommended Asana. I configured the system and helped the team adopt a clearer process for submitting, tracking, and managing creative requests.
My role at Aalberts grew beyond producing finished design pieces. I contributed to how technical information was organized, how the brand was applied across different formats, and how the creative process itself could be improved.
branded promotional materials
I designed branded promotional materials that moved from digital mockups into full production and real-world use. The finished pieces included T-shirts that were printed and distributed, vehicle window graphics that were installed, and other branded materials created for company use.
Each design required careful attention to logo placement, color, scale, and production requirements. The initial mockups helped stakeholders review and approve the work before the final pieces were manufactured and put into use.

social media design
I designed branded social media graphics supporting product launches, employee recognition, industry events, company announcements, and educational content. Each post needed to communicate its message quickly while remaining consistent with the visual identity used across Aalberts and its product brands.
Because many posts featured technical products, I focused on clear hierarchy, readable information, strong product imagery, and layouts that could be understood at a glance. Together, the designs created a consistent social presence while allowing each topic and product to remain distinct.
apollo valves app prototype
I created the visual direction and interface prototype for an Apollo Valves mobile app in Figma. Because there were no existing app screens, I translated the visual system used across Aalberts product literature and marketing materials into a new digital format.
I focused on navigation, content hierarchy, usability, and presenting detailed product information clearly on a smaller screen. The prototype gave stakeholders a visual reference for how the app could look and function while maintaining consistency with the established brand.

What I Took From It
Working at Aalberts expanded how I think about design. Visiting the manufacturing facilities helped me understand the products, production process, and people behind the technical information I was given. That experience made me more thoughtful about accuracy and how design supports work happening beyond the marketing department.
I also learned how to carry an established brand across print, digital, social, mobile, and physical materials without making every piece feel identical. Creating the Apollo Valves app prototype strengthened my approach to organizing technical information for digital use, while introducing Asana showed me that some creative problems can be improved through better systems and communication.
This experience helped me grow into a designer who considers more than how the finished piece looks. I also think about how it will be used, how clearly it communicates, and how the process behind it can work better.
