My Role
UI/UX Designer
Project Details
The Grid.works is a coworking space with a lot of personality. It’s modern, bold, and made for entrepreneurs. My job was to give it a visual identity and digital presence that matched its energy and got people through the door. This grid works creative marketing portfolio highlights the work I did to make that happen.
I handled everything from brand colors and typography to photography, flyers, and a full website. I also created a video walkthrough of the space to help the manager pitch to out-of-town renters. Once the site went live, interest spiked and all the large offices were quickly rented out. That’s what happens when visuals and function line up.
The website includes event listings, community updates, and a local guide so renters can easily find nearby restaurants and shops. I also made sure the layout was user-friendly, tested it with real renters, and took all the photographs used on the site. Nothing stock. Just clean visuals and real spaces.
This project came through ABI Multifamily, where I also worked on real estate design systems like maps, eblasts, and floor plans. You can see that broader work here and how the two projects connect behind the scenes.
The Grid.works let me bring design, strategy, and community storytelling into one space. It was fast, fun, and built to make an impact.

website
Design Process
The color choices for the website were intentionally selected to match the interior design of The Grid.works, which has a very industrial feel. The workspace features exposed pipes and wiring, with Edison bulbs hanging down to create a vintage, yet modern look. Meeting rooms are named after famous graffiti artists like Banksy, with depictions of their work adorning the walls, adding a creative and urban edge to the environment. This aesthetic was reflected in the website design through the use of bold, vibrant colors and modern typography. Note that I did not create the logo for The Grid.works.
Key Features Developed:
- Interactive Space Tour: High-quality photographs and virtual tours of the co-working spaces to give users a realistic sense of the environment.
- Booking System: An intuitive and straightforward booking system for renting various types of spaces, from private offices to shared desks.
- Community Events Calendar: A feature highlighting upcoming events and networking opportunities within the co-working space.
Conclusion & Reflection
Creating The Grid.works website was a rewarding experience that underscored the importance of user-centric design and thorough testing. The project demonstrated the value of engaging directly with potential users to gather insights and refine the design. The positive feedback received from initial testers affirmed the effectiveness of the site's design and functionality, highlighting the importance of clear communication and visual appeal in attracting and retaining users.
At the time of working on this project, I was also working full-time for their parent company, ABI Multifamily, which was located in the upstairs part of the building. Although I no longer work there, I very much enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to contribute to such a dynamic and innovative environment.
